Went to my first plant swap Saturday and it was great. I ended up with the day lilies & coreopsis I was hoping for plus a lot more. I can’t wait till the next one. I’m already preparing some plants and taking cuttings that will hopefully be ready to go by mid Sept.

I found what I believe to be a Black Knight Buddleia (Butterfly Bush) growing near where I work. Its on a median in a small neighborhood. I’ve taken 6 cuttings and have them in some moist soil with some rooting powder on them. I have my fingers crossed. I hope to end up with a couple to trade and one for me.

I’ve been playing around with some garden journaling software. “My Garden Journal” is pretty much set, just fill in the blanks and “Garden Organizer Deluxe” lets you customize everything down to which fields show up on which pages. I really prefer MGJ as it has 90% of what I am looking for but the lack of an import feature is a real pain. I have almost a years worth of local weather data that I would have to enter one day at a time and who has time for that? GOD has the import capability plus it will publish to html though I haven’t had a chance to try feature out yet.
