My friend Max tangled with a car last night and the car won. She went quickly, probably didn’t know what hit her. I had always feared she would dart out in front of a car and it appears that is what happened. This was the last picture I took of her. Well it really wasn’t OF her but she was always there when I would take pictures so it was hard NOT to have her show up in every other one. I found myself looking for her today when I was working in the garden. She is buried between the butterfly bushes. I miss my friend.

Kerry,
Sorry to hear about Max; it’s amazing how attached we get to these little critters. I’m glad you had a nice spot to bury her… we’ve lost a couple of great garden cats over the years, and it’s comforting to know they had a good life, and they’re still there in the garden. Every once in a while I’ll still look for one of them; then I just walk up the hill and pat the rock they are buried under.

Sorry to hear about Max. I know exactly what you mean about looking up from gardening and expecting her to be there…then suddenly remembering why she isn’t. So sad.

I still miss my old cat who died three years ago. I’m glad Max went quickly.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I haven’t felt much like getting outside the last week. Max was always there following me where ever I went. Its just been the last day or two that I haven’t looked for her everytime I walked out the door. Its amazing how quickly the little ones can get in your heart.
