I am starting to wonder if we will ever see rain here again. I had watered last week and that usually brings on rain but not this time.
Here is an official raspberry picture as the season is just getting started.

Wow, those berries look great!ummmmm berries and cream….
I really need a drool guard for this keyboard..
We got rain here all morning,FINIALLY.
Love the berry picture! It’s really dry here too. I’m glad in a way because it means I don’t have to mow the lawn. It’s been so hot here I can’t imagine pushing a mower around. At least when I (hand)water, I can spray myself as well as the flowers and keep cool.
Well I watered last night and sure enough it rained. I swear if I want it to rain normally I just have to water. I’m watering again tonight as we didn’t even get 1/4″.
If either of you are interested in some raspberry plants, more than likely I will have a lot to spare next spring for a sase. Unless something drastic happens between now and then that is. I am limiting their space and since they tend to spread I will probably have plants coming up between the rows. I could mow them but I hate to do that if there is someone else that could use the plants. I’ll post a msg on here, probably sometime in April.
I just might take you up on that offer as I am planning a berry garden. Do you know if your viarity is hardy in zone 5? They look so plump and wonderful. I drool seeing them. (im imagining raspberry preserves right now int he dead of winter) Although, there are some gold ones that are clumbing and not running I’ve been looking at.
I believe Heritage raspberries are hardy to zone 4 so you should be fine. They actually prefer it a little cooler. They have a long bearing season too. They will go from now till hard frost (end of Oct/beginning of Nov here). There is some good raspberry and blackberry info on varieties, disease and insects for KY here and since you are so close the same things might apply. There is also chemical info so just ignore that.
