These babies are Big Beef, Celebrity and Classica. The seed was a couple of years old in some cases and yet it looks like every one sprouted. These are growing in the float tray.
It wasn’t till last week that I realized I planted my tomaotes about a month earlier than I had planned to. I don’t normally plant them in the garden till mid May, these should be monsters by then. I am not sure what I was thinking, early March is not April 1st. Oh well early to plant…
Hi Kerry,
You have a very nice website. I’ve visited before but haven’t left a comment. So now I’m saying hello! You could use that trick of laying the tomato plant stems in a trench if they get too huge before May (and I’m sure they will!) Or just plant them deeply. Hope they do well for you. I think people are confusing our names on Zoey’s blog π Isn’t it wonderful to be able to get outside and work in the sun? We are having the most glorious weather this week. Temp is 59ΓΒΊF already today at 10:10AM. I have to go to work. Bummer!
Welcome Kerri,
Thanks for the kind words on the site. I just read Zoey’s blog and think you are right. They are confusing us. Lol oh what fun we could have with that. π
Yes I always bury my tomatoes deep. I am sure they will go through at least one repotting before they go out in mid May. I’ll plant them deep in the 18oz cups when they outgrow the float tray cell. By the time they go in the ground they should have quite a root system on them.
Glad you decided to leave a comment. Do stop back by often.
