Dill, strawberries, ostrich fern, zucchini and some cilantro/coriander

April 12th, 2008 · No Comments

Today was the first day I felt like doing anything so I took advantage of it. I scattered some dill and cilantro/coriander seed in one of the beds, planted a strawberry bag and ostrich ferns I picked up at wally world. The ferns went into a couple of cups on the heated bench while the bag of berries is still draining down in the basement. While I was full of energy(ha!) I transplanted some siberia toms into individual cups on the heated bench and sowed a couple of cups of zucchini.

The asparagus I started from seed is coming up but is still not large enough to eat this year. I will try to baby it this summer and perhaps next spring I will be rewarded. I didn’t do much to it last year and the drought probably set it back some.

I was hoping to feel like getting up the sticks in the yard so we can get it mowed but that will have to wait till tomorrow.
