Beautiful Green

April 9th, 2008 · No Comments

I was home from work today with some kind of cold or what ever is going around. We have strep in the house but no sore throat here which I am VERY thankful for. Perhaps I will escape that. I didn’t crawl out of bed till about 2 pm and remembered that it was already Apr 9th and I hadn’t started the bulk of my tomatoes yet. Fortunately it was a quick fix as I just filled 3 20 oz cups with soil and scattered the Jetsetter, Celebrity and Big Beef seed. After a quick watering and cover with a plastic sandwich bag they went on the heated bench next to the cherry container tomatoes I had sown a few weeks ago.

3 Newly sown cups of Jetsetter, Celebrity and <abbr style="border-bottom: 1px dashed #000000; cursor: help;" title="Indeterminate Tomato. 73 days. 10 to 12 oz. smooth fruit. Slightly acidic flavor, great disease resistance."><span style="border-bottom: 1px dashed #000000; cursor: help;" title="Indeterminate Tomato. 73 days. 10 to 12 oz. smooth fruit. Basil, cutting celery, radishes and lettuce about 1 month after sowing.

The basil, cutting celery, radishes and lettuce are coming along nicely. They were started about a month ago.

This past week I cut back the roses, cleaned out the iris and cleaned out the raspberries. The following picture was taken with my new w580i walkman camera phone. The 2mp camera does a nice job don’t you think?

Both raspberry beds after cleanup.
