Getting this picture was no easy task without a tripod. This was the best of about 60 or 70 that I took with different settings using my little Canon A570IS in manual mode. Taken at about 10:35pm, the specs are: exposure 1/2 sec, aperature f5.5, ISO 400 no flash using both the digital and optical zoom at full throttle. I haven’t played much at all with the manual settings and trying to do the adjustments in the dark was a bit tricky. Holding the camera still enough to get a decent shot at 14F was no piece of cake either. I braced the camera on our wrought iron railing with a folded towel for cushion.

This shot was taken at about 11:30 pm. The moon was passing behind one of the large maple trees.
ISO 400, f5.5 1/60sec.
