pickup truck full of horse manure on its way to the garden

She SCORES again. Today I took a trip to B. & J.’s place to pick up some manure. They have a neighbor with a dozen or so horses, a rather large pile of aged manure AND a front end loader. Just the kind of neighbor every gardener wants. Two huge scoops for B. & J and we were off to their garden. It took the three of us about half an hour to unload then I was back to get my two scoops.

Jump ahead several hours and thanks to T’s help the following now have a lovely black band of the black gold. Asparagus, blackberry, raspberry, grapes, rhubarb, onions an old rose and a gooseberry. I saved one wheel barrow load for the kiwi that I hope to get into the ground tomorrow.
