I just love these cosmos. I believe they are called candy stripe. Both of these are from the same seed packet. The lighter ones are what was on the packet but I do like the darker color too thought it is more purple than the photo makes it look. I planted these away from other cosmos so I could save some seed.

I picked almost 3 lbs of raspberries on Wednesday and another 3 lbs today. I’ve got raspberries comin’ out my ears and probably another month or so of picking. The raspberry jam I made early on is still very thin. I read somewhere that raspberries don’t have a lot of natural pectin. Probably because one minute they are nowhere near ripe and a couple of hours later they are so ripe they are falling off the vine. Perhaps I should try adding extra pectin next time. Anyone have any luck with raspberry jam/jelly?

Lovely. I have cosmos that look like that. The originals were called Picotee and were planted years ago. The reseed every year and every year get more colorful, with more patterns.

Great picture of the cosmos. You are lucky to still have raspberries. Yummy!

I am hoping these reseed and come back. I have some orange ones that make a showing every year in another bed. Cosmos are one of my favorites.
My raspberries bear either in the spring and fall or just in the fall depending on how I manage them. If I cut the canes back to the ground in the winter I get a larger fall only harvest from about mid August through till frost.

Cosmos is one of my favorites too. I love those pinks.
I have good luck with rasberry jam, but I use sure jell. It comes out perfect every time.
I arrived here at an archive post from Sandy’s garden! I’ve been here before (and said hello I think).

I checked my raspberry jam from last summer and it has finally set. I guess it just takes a while.
I have lots of volunteer cosmos coming up where this patch was. I’ll be interested to see if they are the same color.
