Gardening Black Hole #1

July 6th, 2005 · 2 Comments

On Sabine’s blog a discussion came up about what our gardens REALLY look like without the effect of close ups, getting just the right angle and other photographic tricks. C’mon admit it, we’ve all done it. Move that shot a little to the left to leave out that bare spot. Drag the trash can over a little to get it out of view. I thought it might be fun to show some of the things that aren’t normally photographed. Stuff I need to deal with (and will at some point), stuff I am not so proud of. Things I affectionately call gardening black holes.

Who ever wrote the part in Jumanji about the plant run amok must have lived in Kentucky. I must have cut this mess back to the ground several times this year but it just keeps coming back and trying to take over the house. Notice how it is heading for the door. Its like that vine in the movie. I need to deal with this and I will at some point but right now I have to pick some zucchini.

Found you while surfing the blogger world! :)

That there vine you got is in the Morning Glory family. Yessir, we had a whole back deck covered with it. Even the lack of rain here in KY doesn’t keep it down.

It flowers, eventually…I think after it eats your house pets. ;)

    Nice blog.
